Grade 410 excels in resisting dry air, fresh water, mild bases and acids, food substances, steam, and hot gases.
Optimal performance requires hardening for maximum heat and corrosion resistance, with best results achieved on a smooth surface.
Superior Heat Resistance
Exhibits excellent resistance to scaling at temperatures up to approximately 650°C. However, it is not generally recommended for temperatures between 400 and 580°C as mechanical properties diminish.
Precision Heat Treatment
For a full anneal, heat to 815-900°C, then cool slowly in the furnace to 600°C before allowing to air cool.
For process annealing, heat to 650-760°C and then air cool.
Expert Welding Techniques
Easily welded using all standard methods, with preheating to 150-260°C and post-weld annealing recommended to minimize cracking.
