316/316L stainless steel alloy is a premier austenitic stainless steel pipe that includes molybdenum. The enhanced nickel and molybdenum content in this grade significantly boosts its overall corrosion resistance compared to 304, especially against pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride conditions. Additionally, 316/316L seamless pipe excels with high-temperature tensile strength, creep resistance, stress rupture strength, and outstanding formability and weldability. The low carbon variant, 316L, resists sensitization, making it ideal for large welded components.
