This advanced alloy is designed for high-strength and corrosion-resistant applications, including chemical processing, petrochemical, and seawater equipment. Duplex 2507 exhibits exceptional resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, along with superior thermal conductivity and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The high chromium, molybdenum, and nickel content ensures excellent protection against pitting, crevice, and general corrosion.
Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) is a super duplex stainless steel alloy composed of 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel, engineered for demanding applications needing high strength and exceptional corrosion resistance. This includes chemical processing, petrochemical, and seawater equipment. The alloy offers outstanding resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, high thermal conductivity, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. Its composition provides superior resistance to pitting, crevice, and general corrosion.

General Corrosion
For optimal hot working, the Baosteel 2507 should be processed between 1875°F and 2250°F, followed by a solution anneal at a minimum of 1925°F and a rapid air or water quench.
The Baosteel 2507 is compatible with most stainless steel forming methods. Due to its higher yield strength and lower ductility compared to austenitic steels, fabricators should use greater forming forces, larger bending radii, and higher allowances for springback. Processes like deep drawing and stretch forming are more challenging with 2507. When deformation exceeds 10%, solution annealing and quenching are recommended.
Post hot or cold forming, the Baosteel 2507 should be solution annealed at a minimum of 1925°F, followed by rapid air or water quenching. To maximize corrosion resistance, heat-treated products should be pickled and rinsed.
Renowned for its weldability, the Baosteel 2507 can be joined using various techniques, including SMAW, GTAW, PAW, FCW, or SAW. For optimal duplex weld structures, pairing with 2507/P100 filler metal is recommended.
2507 is not required, except to prevent condensation on cold metal. The Interpass

Each stainless steel sheet's finished side is coated with a protective film, which can be easily peeled off post-fabrication or installation, safeguarding the material's surface from damage. The back side remains unfinished.
While the 2205 grade is widely used for its weldability, formability, and good corrosion resistance, the Baosteel 2507 offers superior performance for more demanding applications.
