Daxun Alloy's pure titanium Grade 1 titanium tubes include:
seamless titanium tubes and welded titanium tubes, which have excellent ductility and cold formability, and are ideal for deep drawing. Grade 1 titanium tubes are renowned for their exceptional general and seawater corrosion resistance. Additionally, they exhibit outstanding resistance to oxidizing, neutral, and slightly reducing media (solutions) including chlorides.
Titanium's low density (approximately half that of nickel-based alloys), combined with its high strength, light weight, and superb corrosion resistance, makes it an excellent choice for various severe chemical environments. The execution standards include: ASTM B338 | ASTM B265 | ASME SB265 | ASTM F67 | ISO 5832-2 | 3.7025 | UNS R50250.
Grade 2 Titanium Tube (UNS R50400 / Werkstoff WS 3.7034)
This predominantly utilized titanium tube in industrial applications offers an exceptional balance of moderate strength and reasonable ductility. It provides excellent corrosion resistance in both highly oxidizing and slightly reducing conditions (including chlorides). Ideal for chemical and offshore industries, aircraft manufacturing where both strength and ease of forming are crucial, heat exchangers, hypochlorite systems, fire water systems, ballast water systems, industrial and aerospace components, CPI equipment, and pipes.
Fabrication
Titanium Grade 2 responds proficiently to cold forming using standard methods. It can be easily machined, but it is crucial to maintain sharp tools and use plenty of coolant. As with machining austenitic stainless steels, deep and continuous cuts with slow feeds and speeds are recommended.
Stock Availability
Daxun Alloys maintains an extensive stock of CP 2 Grade Titanium Seamless and Welded Pipes in a variety of sizes, ensuring readiness for diverse applications.
Weight Reduction
CP 2 grade titanium tubes boast low density and a high strength-to-weight ratio, making them ideal for applications demanding weight reduction without compromising overall strength. They are cold formable, exhibit good ductility, and can be welded using conventional TIG and MIG processes, although inert gas shielding is essential to prevent weld zone embrittlement.
Crystal Structure
At room temperature, ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium tube exhibits an alpha (hexagonal close-packed) crystal structure, akin to commercially pure titanium grades 1 and 3. At around 885°C (1625°F), it transitions to a beta (body-centered cubic) structure. This transition temperature can be adjusted by the type and amount of impurities or alloying additions. The addition of alloying elements bifurcates the single temperature of equilibrium transformation into two zones: the alpha transformation zone (below which the alloy is all alpha) and the beta transformation zone (above which the alloy is all beta). Between these temperatures, both alpha and beta forms coexist. Typical transformation temperatures for Grade 2 titanium are 890°C (1635°F) for alpha and 913°C (1675°F) for beta.
Grade 2 Titanium Seamless Pipe Manufacturing Process
Daxun's ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium seamless tubes are meticulously crafted from hollow blanks through hot extrusion or oblique rolling and piercing processes, followed by multiple cold rolling steps. The continuous perimeters of the titanium seamless tubes are maintained at all stages of manufacturing. The production process involves: sponge titanium vacuum arc melting, ingot blanking to obtain hollow blanks, cleaning, cutting and feeding, hot extrusion or oblique rolling with piercing, degreasing, drying, cutting, online annealing and straightening, pickling, multiple cold rolling, degreasing, drying, vacuum annealing, straightening, cutting, pickling, final inspection, marking (DAXUN), and packaging.
Grade 2 Titanium Welded Pipe Manufacturing Process
Introducing Daxun's superior ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium welded pipe, crafted from annealed flat-rolled steel plates or strips through an advanced automatic arc welding (TIG) process. The meticulous production sequence involves: uncoiling, shearing, butt welding, cleaning, pipe forming, TIG welding, eddy current testing, pre-sizing, annealing, precision reducing and sizing, straightening, eddy current testing, caliper marking, cutting, ultrasonic testing, hydrostatic testing, final inspection, and packaging. Every welded pipe undergoes a stringent stress relief heat treatment post-formation and welding to ensure optimal performance. Notably, Daxun refrains from using any filler materials in the welding process.
Premier Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Pipe - Grade 5 Titanium Tube
Titanium Alloy - (UNS R56400)
Introduction
DAXUN's Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5 (UNS R56400) stands as the pinnacle of titanium alloys. This duplex alpha+beta alloy incorporates aluminum for alpha stabilization and vanadium for beta stabilization, creating a high-strength material usable at temperatures up to 800°F (427°C). ATI Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 alloy is ideal for annealing, solution treating, and aging processes. Its applications span from compressor blades, disks, and rings for jet engines, to fuselage and space capsule components, pressure vessels, *** cases, helicopter rotor hubs, fasteners, and critical forgings that demand a high strength-to-weight ratio.
Initially, the alloy undergoes melting through vacuum arc (VAR), electron beam (EB), or plasma arc hearth melting (PAM). It is then remelted in one or two additional vacuum arc steps for superior quality.
