Daxun Alloy's premium pure titanium Grade 1 tubes comprise:
Seamless titanium tubes and welded titanium tubes, renowned for their outstanding ductility and cold formability, making them perfect for deep drawing. Grade 1 titanium tubes are celebrated for their excellent general and seawater corrosion resistance, as well as their superior resistance to oxidizing, neutral, and slightly reducing media, including chlorides.
Titanium's remarkably low density (approximately half of nickel-based alloys), high strength, lightweight nature, and exceptional corrosion resistance render it an optimal selection for a multitude of challenging chemical environments. Adhering to rigorous execution standards: ASTM B338 | ASTM B265 | ASME SB265 | ASTM F67 | ISO 5832-2 | 3.7025 | UNS R50250.
Grade 2 Titanium Tube (UNS R50400 / Werkstoff WS 3.7034)
Grade 2 titanium tubes are the industry standard for numerous applications, offering a perfect blend of moderate strength and commendable ductility. They deliver outstanding corrosion resistance in both highly oxidizing and slightly reducing conditions, including chlorides. These tubes provide robust protection in chemical and offshore industries, aircraft manufacturing, heat exchangers, hypochlorite systems, fire water systems, ballast water systems, and CPI equipment.
Fabrication
Titanium Grade 2 is highly responsive to cold forming using standard techniques. It can be easily machined, provided that sharp tools are maintained and a generous amount of coolant is used. Similar to machining austenitic stainless steels, the cuts should be deep and continuous, with slow feeds and speeds.
Stock Availability
Daxun Alloys maintains a diverse stock of CP 2 Grade Titanium Seamless and Welded Pipes in various sizes.
Weight Reduction
CP 2 Grade titanium tubes boast a low density and a superior strength-to-weight ratio, ideal for applications requiring weight reduction without compromising strength. They possess good ductility, are cold formable, and can be welded using conventional TIG and MIG methods, though inert gas shielding is essential to prevent embrittlement of the weld zone.
Crystal Structure
At room temperature, ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium tube exhibits an alpha (hexagonal close-packed) crystal structure, similar to commercially pure titanium grades 1 and 3. Around 885°C [1625°F], it transitions to a beta (body-centered cubic) structure. This transformation temperature can vary with the type and amount of impurities or alloying additions. Alloying elements also divide the single equilibrium transformation temperature into two zones: the alpha transformation zone (below which the alloy is all alpha) and the beta transformation zone (above which the alloy is all beta). Between these temperatures, both alpha and beta forms coexist. Typical transformation temperatures for Grade 2 titanium are 890°C (1635°F) and 913°C (1675°F), respectively.
Grade 2 Titanium Seamless Pipe Manufacturing Process
Daxun's ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium seamless tubes are crafted from hollow blanks via hot extrusion or oblique rolling and piercing processes, followed by multiple cold rolling stages. The manufacturing process ensures continuous perimeters at all stages. Key steps include: sponge titanium vacuum arc melting, ingot blanking to achieve hollow blanks, cleaning, cutting and feeding, hot extrusion or oblique rolling + piercing, degreasing, drying, cutting, online annealing and straightening, pickling, multiple cold rolling, degreasing, drying, vacuum annealing, straightening, cutting, pickling, final inspection, marking (DAXUN), and packaging.
Grade 2 Titanium Welded Pipe Manufacturing Process
Daxun's ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium welded pipe is meticulously crafted from annealed flat-rolled steel plates or strips utilizing the advanced automatic arc welding (TIG) process. The comprehensive production stages encompass: titanium plate uncoiling, shearing, butt welding, cleaning, pipe forming, TIG welding, eddy current testing, pre-sizing, annealing, precision reducing and sizing, straightening, additional eddy current testing, caliper marking, cutting, ultrasonic testing, hydrostatic testing, final inspection, and packaging. Each welded pipe undergoes an essential stress relief heat treatment post-forming and welding. Daxun ensures no filler materials are used during the welding process, guaranteeing high-quality output.

Forgeability/Formability
DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5: Renowned for its exceptional qualities, this titanium tube undergoes forging at a precise 1,750°F (954°C), concluding at 1,450°F (788°C). To achieve optimal results, a reduction of at least 35% is highly recommended.
DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5: Despite its challenging formability at room temperature, even when annealed, this remarkable titanium can be shaped through severe forming operations such as bending or stretching at temperatures up to 1,200°F (649°C) without affecting its mechanical integrity. For hot sizing and forming, creep forming is the preferred method, effective in the temperature range of 1,000 to 1,200°F (538 to 649°C).
Machinability
DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5: This titanium tube can be precisely machined using techniques suitable for austenitic stainless steels. Employing slow speeds, high feeds, robust tool rigidity, and generous amounts of non-chlorinated cutting fluids ensures the best machining performance.
Weldability
DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5: Offering excellent weldability in both annealed and solution-partially aged conditions, this titanium tube achieves aging during post-weld heat treatment.
Ensuring the utmost quality, precautions are necessary to prevent contamination by oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen. Fusion welding is best performed in an inert gas-filled chamber or with an inert gas tail shield to protect the molten metal and adjacent hot zones. Techniques such as spot welding, seam welding, and flash welding can also be performed without a protective atmosphere.
Special Considerations
DAXUN Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Tube, Grade 5: It's crucial to avoid contamination with hydrogen during improper pickling and from the absorption of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon during forging, heat treating, and brazing. Such contamination can reduce ductility and negatively impact notch sensitivity and formability.
