Daxun Alloys' inventory now contains Duplex 2507, a super duplex stainless steel plate with 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. This alloy is intended for use in applications requiring high strength and corrosion resistance, such as chemical processing, petrochemical, and seawater equipment. The steel is very resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking, with good thermal conductivity and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The high chromium, molybdenum, and nickel content ensures good resistance to pitting, crevices, and general corrosion.
Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) is a super duplex stainless steel containing 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. It is designed for demanding applications requiring great strength and corrosion resistance, such as chemical process, petrochemical, and seawater equipment. The steel is very resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking, with a high thermal conductivity and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The high chromium, molybdenum, and nickel levels offer outstanding resistance to pitting, crevices, and general corrosion.

General Corrosion
2507 should be hot worked between 1875°F and 2250°F. This should be followed by a solution anneal at 1925°F minimum and a rapid air or water quench.
Cold working 2507 is compatible with the majority of standard stainless steel forming processes. Because the alloy has a higher yield strength but lower ductility than austenitic steels, fabricators may need to use more forming forces, a larger radius of bending, and a greater margin for springback. Deep drawing, stretch forming, and similar procedures are more difficult to carry out on 2507 than on austenitic stainless steel. When forming calls for more than 10% cold deformation, a solution anneal and quench is advised.
2507 should be solution annealed and quenched following hot or cold forming. Solution annealing should be done at a temperature of at least 1925°F. Annealing should be followed by a quick air or water quench. To achieve the best corrosion resistance, heat treated products should be pickled and rinsed.
2507 has excellent weldability and may be linked to itself or other materials using shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), flux cored wire (FCW) or submerged arc welding (SAW). When welding 2507, use 2507/P100 filler metal to get the desired duplex weld structure.
2507 is not required, except to prevent condensation on cold metal. The Interpass
Our stainless steel sheets (sometimes called steel sheets) are available in a range of beautiful finishes: brushed finish, 2B smooth finish or 8K mirror finish.
The finished side of each stainless steel sheet we supply is coated with a film. This film is easily peeled off after fabrication or installation and protects the surface of the material from wear and marks. The back side is unfinished.
2205 Grade Stainless Steel Sheet is the most commonly used variety. It is easily weldable, formable, and has good corrosion resistance.
