Type 321 is a titanium-stabilized chromium nickel austenitic stainless steel that boasts corrosion resistance comparable to 304/304L. Commonly utilized in the temperature range of 800-1500˚F, this grade is stabilized against chromium carbide precipitation by adding titanium, which leads to the formation of titanium carbides. Type 321 offers superior intergranular corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance up to 1500˚F, and enhanced creep and stress rupture properties compared to 304/304L. Additionally, it remains strong at low temperatures and is non-magnetic when annealed.
